Dorothy Elaine (Gabriele) Luzzi, 80 years old had a peaceful passing to be with Jesus on March 2, 2023 with her loving family at her bedside. Dottie was born on December 23, 1942 in Providence, R.I. to Luigi Gabriele and Genevieve (Andre’) Gabriele. Dottie has been a cosmetologist since 1964 and a business owner for 49 years of her private salon “Candlelite Coiffures” in Lincoln, RI. Dottie’s life consisted first and foremost of love for her family, and her personal relationship with Jesus. She attended New Hope Christian Church in Swansea for 32 years. She loved serving at her church in varied positions; as a church greeter, Sunday school teacher and participant in the women’s prayer group. She always attended women’s fellowships and special events at her church. She held Christian women’s fellowships and hosted 2 missionaries at her home. Dottie helped many women with their spiritual, emotional and physical needs within the church, and other outside programs. For the last seven years she was a leader in a women’s telephone prayer group, she started with her sister. She was a precious lady who revealed the love, compassion and forgiveness of Jesus to others. Dottie always had a beautiful smile on her face and kind words to say about everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by many. Dottie was preceded in death by her former husband Joseph Gianquitti, her late husband Michael Luzzi, son Michael J. Luzzi Esq., both parents and sister Joan Audette Barbuscio. She is survived by her daughter Roseann (James) Rotondo of Johnston, son Kenneth (Denise) Gianquitti of Johnston, sisters Sandra Reitmire of Providence, Lori (Rick) Williams of Puyallup, Washington. Dottie has 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a donation to her beloved church, New Hope Christian Church, 1436 Grand Army Highway Swansea, MA 02777 would be appreciated. Family and friends whose lives Dottie has touched are invited to her Celebration of Life, at Keefe Funeral Home on 5 Higginson Ave. (across from her former Candlelite Coiffures) Lincoln, R.I. on Saturday March 11. Visitation hours will be held between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm followed by a celebration of life ceremony beginning at noon. Dottie will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Johnston, RI.
